A Word about Technique

Over the holidays, I made up a couple of recipes that turned out really well, and I will share them with you in later posts.

Lately, I’ve been learning more and more the importance of honouring my instincts when it comes to cooking and baking. If you’ve made a certain kind of recipe a few times, you get to know its needed components, and realize that you can make changes and additions that will really enhance your recipe. A big part of this process is learning to be open to inspiration.

Part of this process is being relaxed, seeing what ingredients you have and trying to imagine how they can be put together to make something wonderful.

I really lucked out with two recipes: one for rum balls and one for rice pudding. I’ll share these with you in later posts. In the meantime, I urge you to exercise your creativity.
