Pear, Raspberry, and Kale Smoothie
Here’s another smoothie that can be made from ingredients that grow locally.
Smoothies are very forgiving, so it’s worth being creative when making them. You can add any kind of fruit or berry that grows locally, and any kind of green such as spinach, chard or dandelion leaves. Fresh herbs like peppermint, spearmint or parsley add flavour and nutrients as well.
Here is a recipe for a smoothie using pears, raspberries and kale.
Ingredients:
3 pears
1/2 C. raspberries
5 leaves of kale
1/3 C. ice
Blend pears and raspberries, then add kale and ice to the blender until it’s pureed.
Serves 2-3.
